PRIVATE COLLECTION  - THE NUDE

Be sure to scroll below the slide show for much more

"The porcelain nude figure. We made very few pieces as it was not a popular item in the 1950s. It was complex with 11 pieces in the mold. Joe created this beautiful figure in snow white or grey glaze and is  considered one of the rarest and most desirable pieces of Messer porcelain "   ~Eunice

Joes training in "Life Drawing" at the Kansas City Art Institute certainly contributed to his attention to detail in this magnificent sculpture.  A recent discovery of one of the original Messer "nude" molds (originally acquired from Joe and Eunice by Little Heart Ceramics in the late 1950s) was quite the surprise to both Messer collectors and the Messer family alike!!!
